Palestinian Artist Passes a Cultural Torch from Grandmothers to Grandchildren and Plants the Seeds of Hope

World renowned Palestinian singer Dalal Abu Amneh will be the featured artist in a grand concert in Southern California on 1 June 2025. Known for her classical and folkloric songs, she has popularized a theme called Ya Sitti (My Grandmother) featuring grandmothers accompanying her in sold-out concerts. This theme has evolved into featuring a children’s choir in a symbolic look towards the future and passing the cultural torch. Tickets will go on sale this weekend!

The benefit concert event will be hosted by the Palestine Foundation. It will also feature the Mawtini Choir, a Palestine Foundation initiative that teaches children traditional songs in Arabic, along with Dabke folk dancing, traditional musical instruments, and many other activities.

Dalal Abu Amneh, a trained neuroscientist married to ophthalmologist Anan Abbasi, brings her research skills to the arts and explores this detailed history of the Levantine heritage and its significance in order to combine its authenticity with a touch of exciting modernity.  She has released several songs and two albums, was honored in dozens of festivals for her supporting humanitarian causes.
